Mum, I am going to Switzerland for a couple of years. Blink of an eye, I have been in LDN for 22 years.
What have I done? And why I am here? I got two placements in Zurich Swissotel and London One Aldwych to complete my study, but I can only choose one, so I said "yes" to LDN because of its an exciting city, I can improve my English, Julie Owen the HR manager who interviewed me was so nice and sweet and I want to work with nice people.
After 3 years , I had my beautiful boy and was planning to come back to HongKong because life was difficult without family and relatives around. When he was about 3 years old, me and my son flew to HongKong to see my parents and relatives for a holiday and my son Josh did not like it, so I decided UK might be better for him and for me because the school and living standard.
Now he is an 18 years of age, I am very proud of him and proud of what I have decided to stay in the UK. I never regret to have him, when every time I look at him that's the reason to stay strong and thinking life is wonderful no matter what.(positive vibe)
London is a good place to meet different people from all over the world, especially when I worked in Hospitality, I had ups and downs in the industry, have to handle physical, mental stress and the study but I love it. Everyday is a learning and problem solving day. I got insomnia time to time thinking about things, c'est la vie.
When I have day off I want to be home alone without getting any contact with anyone.
Working in hospitality is a tough, long hours, working in an anti-social hours, when everyone gone home I am start working, when everyone gone to bed, I am still working, when weekend, family day and I will be working, that's the world I am in for the last two decades, and now I am a Head Sommelier specialist in wines and sakes drink business.
How do I get into the drink business ? Because I love learning different things.
Being in the drink world is fascinating. In my culture, beer and tea are very common things, at the beginning wines and spirits are completely new to me, after more than 10 years drinking , training and studying, I must say I can analysis different wines and blind tasting of sake. even people too.*+*
In 2020 I had a break of hospitality was when the covid hit the capital, I made a redundant by a hotel chain company because I was a newbie and they don't know when they will open. I was completely lost and realise that my job was insecure but I still need to pay my bills and live, what can I do? Thank you Lord, although I have been here for so long, I was not abundant, my parents are very concerned and supportive, they sent load of mask and money to buy me a van to deliver and spend. When one door closes another opens, I felt in love UK suburb, I went to different areas, everyday was an adventure, Life is full of surprise and I will never imagine I was a delivery driver driving almost 100 miles per day to work.
What is the purpose of life? I want to live my live purposely. Is it make everyone happy? Is it working in hospitality all my life as a profession. None of them. My purpose of life is help others, first I have to help myself, starting business, create jobs, create comfortable working hours for myself, make my family comfortable and I want to fulfil my parents wishes because they love me so much.
I want to do what I love. Starting a business is my goal. Why I want business? Why I want to become financial freedom ? Freedom to work, Freedom to travel, Freedom to spend, Freedom to create, Freedom ................. It's a lifestyle. YES , THATS RIGHT.
Met LB who is the rapper is another eye-opening moment. This man's story is represented a lot of Londoner who has a single parent and life wasn't easy for 5 brothers and sister. A street is his comfort and I learned a lot street smart and gain a lot encouragements from him.We are working together and will bring a lot of good musics and videos .
Life is still goes on. When I woke up everyday. Thank you Lord that I am still live and able to make it. I am worthy.
Living in London for 22 years, I have been developed my hobbies of shopping which I learn my own style and discover different styles of fashion and accessories thanks to the fashion consultant LB . One day I want to design my own clothings, touch different fibres, see and try on many more different things.
Travelling with car and going to different hotels, pubs and restaurants trying their cuisine is also addicted. Don't want go broke...........;)
